FAQ

The nitty-gritty details. If your question isn't here, we want to hear it.

Why use WesenAI for Amharic?

WesenAI focuses on Amharic-first use cases, with tooling for Ge'ez script, Amharic prompts, and developer workflows. The current alpha includes TTS, STT, chat, and translation, with quality varying by task and input.

How do the APIs work?

WesenAI exposes REST APIs with familiar conventions. Manage your API keys from the developer console, make requests, and track usage in credits. Cost information is exposed in supported playground and account workflows.

What's included in the platform?

The platform currently offers text-to-speech, speech-to-text, conversational AI (chat), and translation services. All are available through the playground UI and as developer APIs.

How does the speech recognition handle different dialects?

Our STT models are trained on diverse Ethiopian speech patterns including regional dialects and accents. This is still an area of active development — accuracy varies by dialect, and we're expanding coverage over time.

How does WesenAI handle Ge'ez script?

Our core text and speech workflows accept Ge'ez script inputs, and we test rendering and encoding throughout the product. Coverage still varies by service and model.

What are the API rate limits and pricing?

We use a credit-based pricing model with recurring plans and one-time credit packs. Rate limits and access levels can vary by product and by alpha stage, so contact our team for details tied to your use case.

Is my data secure? What do you do with API requests?

Requests are sent over encrypted connections. We log some inputs and outputs to operate and improve the service, and we rely on service providers to run the platform. Because WesenAI is in alpha, do not send sensitive personal information through the APIs.
